CURSIVE SHARES NEW SINGLE “BLOODBATHER” - WATCH THE VIDEO STARRING SHANNON PURSER (STRANGER THINGS) AND AURORA PERRINEAU (WESTWORLD) - ANNOUNCE 2025 WEST COAST TOUR

Ahead of this Friday the 13th’s release of their 10th album, Devourer, via Run For Cover Records, Cursive has shared their new single “Bloodbather.” The dynamic and defiant track–which features a soaring interlude that slowly builds to a cacophonous end–is out now alongside a blood-spattered, winking video starring Shannon Purser (Stranger Things, Riverdale, Sierra Burgess Is A Loser) and Aurora Perrineau (Westworld, Kaos), and directed by Chelsea Stardust (Satanic Panic, All That We Destroy). “‘Bloodbather’ is the internal dialogue I assume most of us have, the squabbles of conscience to be a more upstanding person when you'd much prefer to wallow in your vices,” explains singer/guitarist Tim Kasher. “Chelsea Stardust made an outstanding video for the song starring Aurora Perrineau and Shannon Purser in a prom-gone-wrong that quickly devolves into a fight club.” The video is part of the band’s series of horror-themed clips created around the album by genre directors, and follows lead single “Up and Away,” by Brea Grant (12 Hour Shift, Torn Hearts); “Botch Job,” from Travis Stevens (A Wounded Fawn, Jakob’s Wife, Girl On The Third Floor); and “Imposturing,” directed by Kasher. Devourer is now available for preorder.

CURSIVE SHARES NEW SINGLE “IMPOSTURING” ALONGSIDE A VIDEO DIRECTED BY FRONTMAN TIM KASHER

Cursive today shared their jagged, yet poppy new single “Imposturing,” the third from their forthcoming new album Devourer, out September 13, 2024, via Run For Cover Records. The song–which features a soaring, woozy synth line by the band’s Patrick Newbery–arrives alongside a campy, gory video directed by singer/guitarist Tim Kasher. “The overall conceit of 'Imposturing' is, 'make it up as you go along,' so I concocted a story of a monster seemingly made up from the insecurities of this main singer guy (me). Once fully formed, the monster goes on a rampage,” he explains. “We shot the video over a few days in Omaha, NE, in and around O'Leaver's and The Admiral. Our practical effects were the product of various DIY Youtube tutorials.”

The clip is the latest installment of Cursive’s horror-themed videos created around the album by genre directors, following lead single “Up and Away,” by Brea Grant (12 Hour Shift, Torn Hearts), and “Botch Job,” from Travis Stevens (A Wounded Fawn, Jakob’s Wife, Girl On The Third Floor). The singles have been earning the band attention from Stereogum (about “Up and Away:” “It’s got a great, beefy bassline, and that classic noisy-yet-melodic sound Cursive have perfected”), Brooklyn Vegan, The Hard Times, Under The Radar, and many more. Devourer is now available for preorder.

Following a September 20th performance at Riot Fest, Cursive will embark on a fall U.S. tour in support of Devourer beginning October 18th in hometown Omaha, NE. The band also today announced a November 13th London show at Camden Assembly (tickets go on sale tomorrow, August 9th). A current itinerary is below.

CURSIVE SHARES NEW VIDEO AND SINGLE “BOTCH JOB”

WATCH THE TRAVIS STEVENS (JAKOB’S WIFE, A WOUNDED FAWN)-DIRECTED VIDEO

Cursive today shared their new single “Botch Job,” the propulsive opener of their forthcoming album, Devourer. An ear-quaking, catchy banger that rips through its 2:47 runtime, the song is accompanied by a video from director Travis Stevens (A Wounded Fawn, Jakob’s Wife, Girl On The Third Floor); it’s the second in the band’s series of horror-themed clips following lead single “Up and Away,” directed by Brea Grant (12 Hour Shift, Torn Hearts). “‘Botch Job’ is a rumination on what one has done with this life and those unfulfilling feelings that may accompany such thoughts. At this point, I don’t care to know what damage my body has incurred from years of abuse,” explains singer/guitarist Tim Kasher. “It’s those anxiety-fueled gremlins keeping you restless in the dead of night, but put to song.” Devourer, out September 13th via Run For Cover Records, is now available for preorder.

Cursive signs to Run For Cover records, announces new album ‘Devourer’ out September 13, 2024

SHARES LEAD SINGLE “UP AND AWAY,”
WATCH THE VIDEO

Listen to the first single, “Up and Away.”

Freshly signed to Run For Cover Records, Cursive today announced their new album Devourer will be released on September 13, 2024. The iconic Omaha band is known for their intensity, ambition, and execution, and has spent 30 years creating a bold discography that’s defined as much by its cathartic sound as its weighty, challenging lyrical themes. As daring as ever, their 10th album Devourer is full of intense and incisive songs, proving exactly why Cursive have been so influential and enduring–and why they remain so vital today. The album’s lead single “Up and Away” is also out now alongside a video directed by Brea Grant (12 Hour Shift, Torn Hearts) and starring Jonah Ray; anchored by a sinuous bassline, the song exemplifies the band’s signature blend of dissonance and deep melody.

Devourer is now available for preorder. The band has also announced a slew of tour dates this fall in support of the album, beginning October 18th with two hometown Omaha shows at The Waiting Room and including a November 3rd stop at New York City’s Bowery Ballroom.
